Directors

Directors are elected for one-year terms. Directors are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, and hold office until the next Annual General Meeting or until their successors are elected.

President Bruce W. McRae

Bruce McRae resides in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and he and his wife Judy have been involved in Clan MacRae activities
for almost two decades. Bruce traces his ancestry back to Farquhar McRae who arrived in Anson County, North Carolina in the 1780's. Farquhar was born in Kintail/Glenelg, Scotland and was the great-grandson of Alexander of Inverinate.

Vice-President and Editor Larry T. McRae

Larry McRae joined the Clan MacRae Society in 2002 and became the editor of the newsletter that same year. He retired in 2009 from a long career teaching college economics ("casting artificial pearls before genuine swine") and lives today in Winston, Salem, NC. Larry is a graduate of the Army Language School, the University of South Florida and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has made several trips to Scotland and England and paraticularly enjoys hiking and visiting distilleries. He is descended from Philip McRae, who was born in Scotland and came to North Carolina as a boy in 1765.

Secretary Valerie R. See A lifetime member of Clan MacRae, Valerie has been associated with the Society since she was a teenager. She is married to Ken Brookner, and her hobbies include art photography, hiking, cooking, reading, and spending time with their pets. valerie

Director Ebby Darden

Ebby is from Dallas , Texas. She represents Clan MacRae Society at the Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games, North Texas Irish Festival, Central Texas Area Museum in Salado and the San Antonio Highland Games. She traces her lineage to Daniel D. Macrae, born in 1746 in Scotland who immigrated to Virginia in the 1760's. Her family DNA traces to the Highlands of Kintail and Dalriada Irish and Scottish roots. She was chairperson of the Tartan Day for the Scottish Society of Dallas, andshe is an active member of the Sanctuary Choir of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, where she assists with the annual Kirkin' O the Tartan service.
